Assistant Director

Educational Background:

I have a degree in Early Childhood Elementary Education from UW-Oshkosh, and a Preschool Credential and Administrators Credential from Moraine Park.

Experience in the Field:

I began in Early Childhood Education here at The Sycamore Tree in 2001 as a summer school age teacher, and worked on my breaks from college.  Upon graduation, I began full-time as a 3-4 year old preschool teacher, and began my journey onward to administration in 2018.  I have always loved Sycamore Tree, and couldn’t imagine working anywhere else!  The Assistant Director position allows me to help all the children in the center to learn and grow, instead of only the children who come through my classroom.

Family:

My husband Dan and I grew up in Hartford, and continue to live here with our daughter, Adelyn.

Why I Chose This Field:

Ever since I was a kindergartner, I always knew I wanted to teach.  My siblings and I would play school, and I was always the teacher.  I began babysitting, tutoring, and never looked back!  I enjoyed all my field experiences in college, and once upon a time I thought I’d be a great third grade teacher… but once I started working at Sycamore Tree I knew this was the place I wanted to be!  Young children are so eager to learn and I love watching them grow and experience all the things life has to offer.  I can’t imagine a day where I didn’t laugh, be silly, and have fun, and we definitely have that and more at The Sycamore Tree.
