I have a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and a minor in Child and At-Risk Youth Care from the University of Wisconsin La Crosse.
Experience in the Field:
I have always loved working with kids! I have experience working with different child care centers, as well as the YMCA throughout college in mainly school age classrooms. I also have experience working with children from many different cultures through different mission trips where I have spent longer periods of time building relationships with kids in Seattle, Rapid City, Nashville, and Montego Bay, Jamaica. I’ve also done a lot of work with intercity children in the Milwaukee area. I really enjoying being the Program Coordinator because I do get to be involved with many different age groups.
I met my husband Dallas at UW-La Crosse. I am very close with my immediate and extended family as well. I have two sisters who live in the Milwaukee area, and I also have a niece and nephew.
Special Interests & Hobbies:
I absolutely love doing anything outside! I love to go hiking, rock climbing, and biking. One of my favorite places to go is hiking in the bluffs in La Crosse.
Why I Chose this Field:
I’ve always loved working with kids, even since a young age. I used to volunteer with my church teaching Sunday School. In middle school I started going on mission trips and that’s when I really found my passion in working with kids and building relationships with them. I love seeing how kids learn and interact with one another, and how they enjoy life to the fullest. Throughout high school and college I always knew I wanted to have a career helping children and seeing them grow into the person they are becoming. I’ve truly enjoyed seeing the children at Sycamore Tree learn from their teachers and building relationships with each child who comes through our door.
