Responding to the need for quality child care which integrates Christian values, The Sycamore Tree - A Christian Child Care Center, Inc. opened its doors to the Hartford community in 1991. The Sycamore Tree is a non-stock, not for profit organization operating under the licensure of the Department of Health and Family Services and the State of Wisconsin. While the center began at Redeemer Lutheran Church, it is non-denominational and a separate entity operating with a Board of Directors.
The Sycamore Tree has 4 locations in the greater Hartford area. Our unique Seedling Center opened in 1992 as a special facility dedicated to the special needs of our youngest clients. Serving children 6 weeks through 3 years old, it is a home away from home for your infants or toddler. Each classroom in this converted home is equipped with age appropriate equipment and staffed with professionals trained to care for your child's physical, social and cognitive development. Our current license capacity at the Seedling Center is 32 children.
The Sycamore Tree - Preschool is located right next door in the lower level of Redeemer Lutheran Church. The Preschool location incorporates the use of experienced, educated teachers and best practices for the education of young children. Our license at the church location is 30 months to 12 years of age; and the capacity of our license is 72 children on site.
In 2002, The Sycamore Tree Preschool and The Sycamore Tree Seedling Center earned recognition as Accredited centers by the National Association for the education of Young Children. A distinction we still holds today. NAEYC is the recognized quality standard in early childhood education. Both the Seedling Center and the Preschool location achieved the recognition on the first attempt - proving what our children and parents have known all along - the Sycamore Tree provides the best in early childhood care and education.
In August of 2002, The Sycamore Tree branched out in a new direction. Working in cooperation with the school district, The Sycamore Treehouse Campuses began on site at both Lincoln Elementary and Rossman Elementary Schools in Hartford. The on-site care option has been very popular with parents and students; no more riding the bus! Our license capacity for Rossman Campus is 48 students and for Lincoln Campus is 60 students. In-service and vacation days are booked on a first come, first served basis and all students must report to Lincoln Treehouse Campus. Both on-site Treehouse Campuses are licensed for school aged children 5 years to 12 years old. Rossman Campus is closed during the summer and all summer campers are located at the Lincoln Treehouse Campus or at the Preschool facility.
